TRACK INFORMATION & HISTORY

Bradford Speedway is a 1/4 mile high banked dirt track oval located at the corner of Rt 246 & 646 just east of Bradford, in McKean County, PA.   The track, located at 2200 ft elevation is home to some of the closest door to door racing action in the area.

Bradford Speedway is one of the oldest tracks in the country and has a rich and exciting history.  The track was sanctioned by NASCAR during the 1958 Grand National racing season and was site to one NASCAR race that year.  The race featured such early legends as Lee Petty, Buck Baker and Junior Johnson.  The 150 lap event was held on June 12th.  Junior Johnson, driving the '57 Ford #11, won the event with an average speed of 59.840 miles per hour.  He took over the lead on lap 100 and held on to claim the whopping $550 first place winnings.  Lee Petty finished second in the event.  This was the one and only NASCAR sanctioned event at the track.

While we aren't expecting another NASCAR event, there is still plenty of action and fun "at the untamed action track".  Whether you are a driver, crew member or race fan, come on up to Bradford Speedway and be part of the 50th anniversary.

Bradford Speedway schedules over 20 points events each season with racing on Friday Evenings.   Pit Gates open at 6:00PM, Grandstands at 6:00PM and racing starts at 7:30PM.  Four Cylinders, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Chargers make up the 4 star event each week with additional special events scheduled throughout the season.    In addition,  Mid-season Championships are held in late June with Season-ending Championships in early September. Enduro races check the schedule.
